Hi there, {{first_name | friend}},

Being in a supportive community of women is my happy place, especially when we're talking about AI. That's why I love the speaking portion of my work so much.

Me speaking to an audience of moms in Austin, TX

Last week at a Young Men's Service League meeting in Austin, a mother of a high school son asked, "Aren't you worried about giving up so much of your executive functioning to AI?"

The answer was yes. The discussion that followed, and asking the tough questions about AI, matters. Other questions that have come up recently include:

  • Is there a boundary with AI that you won’t cross? (my answer: yes, most definitely. AI is not my friend, therapist, doctor, or romantic partner, to name a few.)

  • Are you concerned about the environmental impacts of AI? (my answer: yes, deeply. I try to be intentional about my AI use and offset it with other sustainable choices, but this is a huge topic for all AI users.)

  • Are you comfortable sharing your kids’ voices with AI? (my answer: personally, I am. I let me kids interact with trusted tools like Alexa with my supervision, though all families have to assess the risks and decide for themselves their level of comfort.)

Over the next 60 days, I'll be speaking in the Austin Independent School District, at Baylor University, the Better Business Bureau of Central Texas, and at the Mom 2.0 Summit, just to name a few. Each event is a chance to dig into what AI means for moms, caregivers, and everyday life, and these conversations are just the beginning.

I’d love to put your PTA, company, or mom group on my speaking schedule!  If you’re interested in booking me to speak, visit my speaking page, or book a 15-minute chat below.

3 Prompts for the Next Time You’re On Stage

(Or in the audience in front of one)

Prompt 1: Get Feedback On Your Presentation Practice Run

Act as my speaking coach and critical feedback partner. I'm going to deliver a practice version of my upcoming talk on [topic] for [audience type]. Listen carefully as I speak or read my notes aloud. Then provide critical, constructive feedback on to help me improve. Generate 5-7 tough questions the audience might ask, including skeptical or challenging perspectives I should be ready to address. Format as honest coaching notes with specific suggestions for improvement.

Mom tip: Try this using Voice Mode with ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.

Prompt 2: Help Me Ask What I Really Want To Know

Act as my question architect. I'm attending a talk on [topic] and I’m trying to figure out what I want to ask, but I can't quite put it into words. I'll share what's on my mind, what I'm confused about, or what feels unresolved. Help me articulate the real questions underneath my thoughts. Push me to get specific and clear about what I actually want to know. Format as a list of refined, focused questions that get to the heart of what I'm trying to understand.

Prompt 3: Find Local Events Near Me

Act as my local event researcher. Help me discover interesting events, workshops, or speaking engagements happening in [city or ZIP code] over the next [timeframe]. Focus on topics related to [your interests: AI, parenting, technology, professional development, gardening, cooking, health and fitness, etc.]. Search for both free and paid options, including community events, conferences, and panels. Provide event names, dates, locations, brief descriptions, and registration links. Format as a calendar-ready list organized by date.

Mom tip: Try this with Google Gemini and get the results mapped.
