Hi there, {{first_name | friend}},
Our family has an annual Super Bowl cooking contest, and this year I’m going all-in with beef empanadas.
The problem?
My folding skills are questionable at best. So I had Google Gemini walk me through the empanada folding technique until I figured out how to make it work for me.
Wish me luck! I’ll let you know if I won next week.💃🏻
But that’s not the only way I used AI to prepare for the Super Bowl.
It also helped me come up with a mini-scavenger hunt and a custom coloring sheet for when the kids inevitably get bored during the game. (It always happens around the third quarter.)
So next time you're hosting a party or just trying to keep the kids entertained, use AI for the busywork so you can actually enjoy it. (Or at least beat your siblings and parents in a cooking contest).

Not everyone is betting on AI this year: Marketing expert Gary Vee predicts that companies will respond to consumer pushback by avoiding overt AI in ads. Read more here.
Prompts to Celebrate February Holidays
The Super Bowl kickoff may be behind us, but the February celebrations keep on coming. Try these prompts to get ahead of Valentine's Day, Presidents Day, and Spring Break.
Prompt 1: Build Connection with Kids on Valentine’s Day
Act as my family connection coach. Help me plan a simple, meaningful Valentine's Day activity with my kids aged [AGES] that focuses on connection rather than candy. I have [AMOUNT OF TIME: 30 minutes, 1 hour, etc.] available and prefer [TYPE: crafts, cooking together, outdoor activities, reading, etc.]. Create a step-by-step plan that includes what we'll do, what materials I need, and conversation prompts to make it feel special without being over-the-top.
Prompt 2: Make Presidents Day More Meaningful (Not Just Another Day Off)
Act as my presidential historian and local research expert. Help me find lesser-known sites, historical markers, and locations near [CITY/ZIP CODE] where U.S. presidents visited, spoke, stayed, lived, or where significant presidential events occurred. Don't just show me the obvious presidential museums—dig deeper to find hidden gems like hotels where presidents slept, parks where they gave speeches, battlefields they visited, homes of their advisors, or sites where major decisions were made. I have kids aged [AGES] and we're looking for [TYPE: indoor, outdoor, both] activities. For each site, explain the presidential connection, what happened there, why it matters historically, admission details, and whether it's engaging for kids. Prioritize places most people don't know about but are worth discovering. Format as a detailed list with the story behind each location.
Mom tip: I tested this in several AI tools and Google Gemini was the winner for this prompt, unlocking presidential gems in my area that I never knew of. Looks like I’m headed to Scholz’s over the long weekend!
Prompt 3: Plan Spring Break Without Losing Your Mind
Act as my Spring Break planning assistant. Help me plan Spring Break for my family with kids aged [AGES]. Our budget is [AMOUNT], and we're open to [TRAVEL TYPE: staying home, road trip within [DISTANCE], flying to [DESTINATION TYPE]]. We need activities that work for [TIME PERIOD: 1 week, 4 days, etc.] and balance relaxation with keeping kids entertained. Include suggestions for accommodations, daily itineraries, packing lists, and backup rainy-day plans. Prioritize realistic expectations and minimal stress.
Mom tip: Don’t be like me and wait too late for Spring Break! A little planning now avoids last-minute scrambling (I am telling myself). AI can help you compare options and build a plan that actually works for your family.
I'm writing The AI-Empowered Family (coming in 2027 from Jossey-Bass, Wiley’s parenting imprint), and I really want to hear from you. What do you hope AI could bring to your life? And what are you afraid the outcomes might be?
Your responses will help shape the book and may be used anonymously to show the real hopes and fears parents are navigating right now. Thank you for your feedback. It means so much to me!
Let's Keep the Momentum Going
Whether your team won or lost, the real win is finding ways to lighten your load so you can show up for what matters most.

P.S. In case you missed it: Ekaterina Konovalova, host of Trust Me Mom, joined the podcast last week to share how she ended up in the hospital from pushing too hard, and why she moved her family cross-country for a better school for her daughter. If you've ever felt like you're drowning trying to stay on top of everything, this one's for you. Ekaterina is so inspiring!
